North to Preah Rumkel
Take a boat trip with the villagers to see the Anlung Cheuteal Dolphin pool. One of the last pools of Irrawaddy dolphins in the Mekong, there are estimated to be only about 64 are still available. The boat driver switches its engine about 100m from the Dolphins as so not to disturb. After seeing the dolphins stop on the mainland, the beginning of the hike up Vouen ppendix Hill. The rise of the mountain takes about an hour and is gently through the forest, make great shade.
At the top of the clear views, enjoy the view of the Si Pan Don in Laos and you will find in the lower Mekong. This area is directly on the Laos / Cambodian border, many people have of this waterfall of Don Khon, but approaching from the Cambodian side is a wonderful experience, and shows the other side of the waterfall, through the erosion of softer stone water basin downstream.
Take in the views, on one side of the mountain you have a view of endless forests in Cambodia, while on the other side you have a view of the Mekong and its way to the north by the fantastic rock formations in the Mekong, which was terminated by the French transport their goods in the region of Indochina.
After your picnic you start your return trip, the hill again. On the way back is easy and you can continue to Preah Ecotourism Rumkel a site was setup to promote sustainable tourism. South to Stung Treng
The following day you can Stung Treng on the Veun Kham Laos / Cambodian border town, or your adventure with a kayak trip on the Mekong by Oh Svay.
Kayaking along this stretch of the river is a unique experience unrivaled in any other tourist, the experience is not difficult, and they are not really, but the rapids bird life sustained by the Flooded Forest is appealing.
Beginning of the trip on Oh Svay kayaking down the river, and you will soon find yourself in the shady forests of flooded Ramsar wetland, the trees are huge, and it will show all the roots out of the water, the water here supports a variety of fish and is oxygentated ago by waterfalls, the whole ecosystem. Listen and watch the birds while you float down stream. A quiet day not to forget. After the kayak through the forest to get to Koh Ky, where you have to Stung Treng in a vehicle driven up the day with a shower at a nice hotel, or for the more adventurous enjoy camping on a sandy island or stay in a kind of lodge on the Mekong.
