As far as I am concerned there is no better place to go on a shopping trip than to our nation’s capital – London. Whatever you like to buy, you will undoubtedly find it in London.
As a family we used to go to London twice a year to shop. I would only buy my suits in London, because there is a particular tailor in Saville Row who knows exactly what I like, and no high street store can replicate the suits that I have made for myself there. My son is a music junkie and unfortunately, as is the way with the music industry these days, the independent music shops have all but disappeared in our neck of the woods, so he loves to go strolling the streets looking for interesting independent record stores. My wife normally gives shopping a miss to visit a health spa that she knows in London. It’s one of these places where they charge you a hundred pounds to have stones laid on your back, but it keeps her happy so who am I to complain!
My two daughters are still buying all of their clothes from high street chains such as H & M and Top Shop so they generally head straight out to the main shopping district and that is where they stay for most of the day!
We’ve always headed to London early in the morning and left late at night but I always imagine that it would be a much nicer experience if you look for cheap hotels in London and hole yourself up for a couple of days of relaxed shopping!
