Travel to India is by itself an adventure, and nothing prepares the first time travelers to the amazing number of languages, cultures, religions and experiences – the ones you are looking for, and those who can find you! If you want to step away from the usual tourist prosecuted and check-out adventure tourism opportunities in India, here are some suggestions.
Whitewater Rafting – in India
The Garhwal and Kumaon hills is situated at the foot of the Himalayas offer some of the best rafting in India. These rapids are provided by the melting ice and snow on a network of rivers from the Himalayan mountains that tower over this region. For this reason, the best times to try this silvery rushing water is in the September-November and March to May. The waters here are sorted and classified in order to both amateurs and professionals.
There are sandy beaches here at regular intervals and the slopes of the mountains with oak, pine, spruce and fir. Some of the rafters would be lucky to spot some spotted deer, monkeys and even the occasional leopard.
For the spiritually inclined, you can also find many ashrams (spiritual retreat) in the vicinity of the rivers.
Mountaineering
The states of Jammu and Kashmir (J & K), Himachal Pradesh and Garhwal region have some of the best and well-organized mountain climbing expeditions in India.
It is important to note that all foreign nationals need permits for their expeditions, the weeks or months to get out of the Indian Mountaineering Foundation (IMF). Climbing in J & K special games and some regions might be limited, since this area borders Pakistan. All climbers must have a X Mountaineering Visa has in its Indian visa from the Indian Embassy.
Tigers and more … in the Corbett National Park
This is the best and easiest place to see a few of your adrenaline crashes all in one go. Elephant safari to find tigers, crocodiles and some friendly Beasties as deer and birds. Then you can bungee jump, rock climb and rivers.
Get up close and personal with an elephant
There are many ways in which these magnificent animals in India, you can ride up to Amber (Amer) Fort from the way a tiger relubrication bleeding on Elephant-back safari, or even wildly on a special Elephant Reserve. However, you can spot them occasionally in the big cities to walk on the streets to collect bananas to passers-by with an occasional medal for his Mahout. By the way, if you happen to be behind an elephant in traffic, keep distance. I once read about an unfortunate person who died when an elephant tired and sat down … on their car.
You can also help to wash his Mahout Elephant Elephant in a South Indian temple. If you are really good, maybe you will be responsible for the scrub him with a coconut-shell loofah.
